Deleting Nintendo Switch games
All Nintendo Switch games can of course also be deleted once you have downloaded them. It makes no difference whether you installed it on the internal memory of the Switch or an additional microSD card to expand the storage space.
This is how you delete Switch games: You have several different options for freeing up your memory. Which one you should choose really just depends on what you prefer or what seems more practical. For example, if you want to get rid of several games at once, you can do that too and don’t have to delete each one individually.
Directly from the home screen:
Select the game you want to delete from the Nintendo Switch home screen and press the + Button.
In the menu on the left, navigate to the item “Data management” so that “Archive software” and “Delete software” are displayed on the right.
Select one of the two options and then confirm the security prompt again if you are sure.
From the Switch System Settings:
From the Switch home screen, navigate to the gear icon on the bottom row to enter System Settings .
Select the ” Data management” item on the left side and move the selection to the right side (here you can also see how much storage space is occupied or is still free and here you can move data between the console and the microSD card).
Either select the “Quick archiving” option : Here you can select several titles from the list and then archive them together in one fell swoop. To do this, you have to click on the button on the right and confirm the action again.
Or you can choose “Software” here to archive or delete individual titles. To do this, you have to select the game and then go to either “Archive software” or “Delete software”. Here you can also toggle the “Do not automatically archive data” option on or off.
